MUNCIE, Ind.– A Delaware County SWAT team raided a suspected drug house Thursday evening on the south side of Muncie.
The house is located in the 2209 block of East 18th Street. Officials seized weapons and illicit narcotics from the residence and three individuals were arrested, one of which is pregnant.
Undercover deputies with the Sheriff’s Drug Task Force had the residence under surveillance since Tuesday and made several narcotics buys from the suspects.
One of the buys happened inside the food aisle of a Walmart on Muncie’s south side.
During the search of the residence by Drug Task Force deputies, they recovered a total of 27.5 grams of heroin, 2.4 grams of marijuana, a .45 caliber high-point handgun, a stolen AR-15 style rifle, a box containing drug paraphernalia used to inject heroin (six syringes, burnt spoons and ties), $4,265 in cash and a Chevy Tahoe.
Pierre J Robinson, 45, Danielle L Phillips, 28, Larry Barnes, 53 were arrested and charged with dealing cocaine/narcotic, possession cocaine/narcotic, maintaining common nuisance, and possession of marijuana.
Deputies say Phillips is four months pregnant. She admitted to both selling and using heroin, but said she was trying to get help. Robinson aka “Boo” is her boyfriend. According to deputies, Boo moved from Detroit to Muncie to sell drugs. Deputies said they’re seeing more and more suspects with Detroit ties.
“We arrested these three and then there’s going to be three or four more that show up,” said an undercover deputy.
Deputies are concerned about the kind of heroin these dealers are bringing into Muncie. They said lately, they seen some batches of heroin test positive for fentanyl.
“Some of that stuff is almost pure fentanyl and that’s an automatic overdose,” the deputy said.
All three suspects have lengthy felony criminal backgrounds.
