Her moment of pure joy surrounding a Chewbacca the Wookie mask captured the internet’s heart last week, and now the “Chewbacca Mom” is making headlines again.
Candace Payne drove James Corden to work on The Late Late Show Monday. A special guest also joined them: Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, who also donned a Chewbacca mask in the backseat.
Corden tells Payne he’s not all that impressed by her Chewbacca impression, but Abrams quickly interjects that he disagrees.
“I think it’s an excellent Chewbacca,” Abrams says.
“Thank you, J.J. Abrams. Thank you. I appreciate that,” Payne says.
Abrams then proceeds to give her a “director’s note” to help Payne get the most out of her inner Chewie.
In the end, they convince Corden to wear the mask, and all three of them erupt in laughter and Chewbacca howls.
