SAN DIEGO, CA – A fallen Navy SEAL and former IU track athlete who lost his life fighting ISIS was honored at the San Diego Padres game last night.

The team held a moment of silence to honor Charlie Keating yesterday, and his family was invited to the game and on the field.

Keating was part of the track team at IU before he joined the Navy in 2006. He attended the Naval Academy and he became a Navy SEAL based out of Coronado.

Keating was serving as an adviser to Kurdish Peshmerga forces fighting ISIS when he was killed in an “extremely heavy and intense” shootout with Islamic state fighters in Iraq on May 3.
