SEYMOUR, Ind. – An Ohio woman was injured in a motorcycle crash in Seymour Friday evening.

Police responded to the crash on I-65 northbound near the 55 mile marker around 6 p.m.

An initial investigation indicated that 65-year-old Linda Ramey’s was operating her 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle when she attempted to exit the interstate onto State Route 11 at exit 55.

Police say Ramey lost control of her motorcycle on the exit ramp and hit loose gravel, causing the motorcycle to skid off the road and down an embankment. She was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained abrasions and possibly a broken arm.

Ramey was transported to Schneck Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.  Ramey was believed to be wearing a helmet and protective clothing during the crash which is believed to be responsible for preventing more serious injuries.

The I-65 northbound exit ramp to State Route 11 was shut down for a short time for crash cleanup.

The investigation is ongoing.
