GREENWOOD, Ind. -- A local dance company is trying to regroup after someone made off with their trailer that had the bulk of their supplies inside.

It happened some time Wednesday night or in the early morning hours in Greenwood.

The business next door captured surveillance video of the thief that stole the trailer from Inspire Dance Company.

"The trailer had all of our props in it and our costumes for our big production number so unfortunately we have a recital coming up June 11 and we need all that stuff back," said instructor, Kerri Sullivan.

Sullivan says the items total about $2,500. And in order for the ladies to hit the stage in a few weeks, they'll have to start from scratch.

"Everyone's pretty bummed out about it and obviously with a nonprofit organization we don't have the extra money to go and buy more, kind of makes it hard, so we're trying to pull together what we can," Sullivan said.

Students arrived to practice Thursday night to hear the bad news.

"I was really shocked someone would do that because we could've unload it all but we didn't because the competition was just last weekend so it's was just really bad timing when they stole it," dancer, Kaylee Stickles said.

This group hopes the surveillance video will lead to some tips. But in the meantime, they have this message for the thief.

"It was just really rude of them and I think that they should feel bad for what they did and it really impacted us, in a negative way," dancer Autumn Horner said.

A couple of items were found in a dumpster in Fountain Square. Donations are already coming in. Greenwood police are investigating.
