Police: Man fatally shoots himself after standoff at business on west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Police and SWAT are the scene of an armed person who reportedly barricaded himself inside a business on the west side before taking his own life.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of Indy Place, near Country Club Road, just before 10 p.m. on a welfare check.
When officers arrived, the suspect allegedly showed them his gun and told them to back off. He did not fire at the officers.
The suspect later fatally shot himself, according to police. No other injuries were reported.
The man’s identity and connection to the business is not known at this time.
