Colts, four more draft picks agree to terms
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Before getting down to football business with Friday’s rookie minicamp, the Indianapolis Colts continue to deal with actual business.
The team agreed to contract terms Thursday with four more of its draft picks: fourth-round defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway, fifth-round offensive tackle Joe Haeg, seventh-round linebacker Trevor Bates and seventh-round center Austin Blythe.
Wednesday, the Colts and first-round draft pick Ryan Kelly reached agreement on a four-year, $10.45 million contract.
Still unsigned are safety T.J. Green (round 2), offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark (round 3) and linebacker Antonio Morrison (round 4).
Rookies do not need to be under contract to participate in the upcoming minicamp, but getting the deals done alleviates any possible headaches. The NFL’s labor agreement includes a rookie wage scale that simplifies negotiations.
