INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --Good Tuesday afternoon! I'm tracking a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms this evening associated with a trough of low pressure to our north. Some storms may be strong to severe, especially across northwest Indiana. Damaging winds and small hail are the primary threats out of the strongest storms.
Wednesday we usher in summer at 12:24 a.m. and it will be a warm and more humid day. Highs will be in the mid-80s with heat indices forecast in the upper 80s. There may a spotty shower around early Wednesday morning but aside from that, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds.
Weather data shows the potential for some t-storms in northern Indiana early Thursday morning but the rest of the area should stay dry and partly cloudy. It will be breezy and hot with highs near 90 degrees. The humidity will also be increasing with dew points increasing to the upper 60s. Heat indices will reach the low 90s.
Tropical Storm Cindy developed today in the Gulf of Mexico and we'll get some tropical moisture from that system on Friday. Rain and t-storms are likely with a tropical feel to the air. It will be warm and humid.
Saturday looks nice with highs near 80 degrees! --Danielle Dozier
