HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (April 15, 2016) — A road rage incident ended with one man in the hospital and another facing charges.

According to New Palestine police, the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of U.S. 52 and County Road 500 West in Hancock County.

Police said Joseph M. Baker rear-ended another vehicle; an argument ensued between Baker and another man. During the argument, police said Baker drove his vehicle toward the victim, running him over and causing serious injuries.

The victim was flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. Police were holding Baker on a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness.

The incident closed County Road 500 West for nearly four hours.
