AP honors Yogi Ferrell as third team All-American

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 29, 2016) – Capping a stellar four-year career last week, Indiana point guard Yogi Ferrell was named a third team All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Ferrell averaged 17.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game during the 2015-16 season. The former Park Tudor star helped the Hoosiers to an outright Big Ten title and a berth in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

The AP first team selections are Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine (unanimous), Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield (unanimous), Virginia’s Malcom Brogdon, North Carolina’s Brice Johnson, and Kentucky’s Tyler Ulis.

The second team is composed of Utah’s Jakob Poeltl, LSU’s Ben Simmons, Kansas’ Perry Ellis, Providence’s Kris Dunn, and Iowa State’s Georges Niang.

Joining Ferrell on the third team are Duke’s Grayson Allen, Iowa’s Jarrod Uthoff, Oakland’s Kay Felder, and Kentucky’s Jamal Murray.
