INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (March 19, 2016) – Tina Scruggs has been in the hospital for more than a month after an SUV slammed into Greiner’s Sub Shop on the city’s South side.

Her family is now updating CBS4 News exclusively on her condition.

The owner of Greiner’s Sub Shop is also sharing her plans on when the city’s oldest sub shop will reopen.

Since the crash, Scruggs has had 12 surgeries.

She suffered internal injuries along with a broken hip, fractured pelvis, arm and neck injuries and a broken ankle in three places.

And that’s not all. She even had her pancreas removed, but the owner of the Greiner’s along with her family tell us the mother of three still has her spirit intact and is making progress every day.

“She’s pretty banged up, but I got her to smile and she’s coming back slowly, but surely,” said Ken Morrison, Tina’s brother.

“You just put a foot forward every day, every single day and that’s exactly what Tina is doing every single day she’s improving,” said Lisa Moyer, owner of Greiner’s Sub Shop.

Greiner’s set up a Go Fund Me page to help Scruggs’ family.
