AVON, Ind. (March 11, 2016) – Avon police arrested a man in connection with a February bank robbery and say he also robbed a gas station earlier this year.
On Friday morning, police took Ben McCullough, 28, Danville, into custody on a felony warrant for armed robbery. Police said tips from the public led to his arrest.
He’s accused of robbing the PNC Bank located at U.S. 36 and Raceway Road in Avon on Feb. 26, 2016. Police said he handed the teller a note demanding cash; the note also said he was armed. He left in a car with money from the bank.
McCullough admitted to his role in the robbery during his arrest, police said. He also said he was responsible for a second robbery at a Circle K gas station in January. Police found evidence linking McCullough to the crimes, including a large amount of cash.
McCullough was taken to the Hendricks County Jail, where he was held on $100,000 bond.
