Colts sign quarterback Scott Tolzien
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 11, 2016)– The Indianapolis Colts picked up a new quarterback Friday.
Scott Tolzien, 6-2, 213 pounds, spent the last three seasons with the Packers (2013-15). He has played in six career NFL games (two starts) and completed 56-of-91 passes for 721 yards with one touchdown and five interceptions. Additionally, Tolzien has carried the ball eight times for 52 yards and one touchdown. Prior to Green Bay, he spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers.
“We looked at a number of quarterbacks during this process and we felt Scott fit us on a number of levels,” said Colts General Manager Ryan Grigson. “He is a young, highly intelligent, tough and driven individual who we feel possesses a lot of potential.”
The team’s previous backup, Matt Hasselbeck, announced earlier this week he is retiring. Hasselbeck said he is joining ESPN as an analyst.
