Former Indianapolis daycare worker convicted in molestation, child pornography case
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 26, 2016) – A former Indianapolis daycare worker could face life in prison after being found guilty in a child pornography case.
Ali Al-Awadi, 22, was convicted on seven counts of production and attempted production of child pornography after a four-day trial.
Al-Awadi worked at Children’s Choice Learning Center at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Investigators said he molested a 4-year-old girl while she was taking a nap and took photos of her with his cell phone. Prosecutors said he used the images to “later fuel his sexual fantasies.” The abuse happened in August 2014.
Prosecutors said Al-Awadi faces a minimum 15-year sentence and a maximum of life in prison when he’s sentenced.
