(Feb. 24, 2016) — More than a dozen Indiana counties have some form of travel advisory as winter weather hits central Indiana. Most of them are located northwest of Marion County, where the heaviest snow is expected to fall.

Six counties have orange travel watches. That means only essential travel (work commute, emergency travel, etc.) is recommended.

Several other counties have yellow travel advisories, the lowest level of local traffic alerts. They mean drivers could encounter problems on the roads that could restrict routine travel. Drivers are urged to use extra caution when an advisory is in place.
