The case went to trial but was dismissed due to "evidentiary problems," according to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 22, 2016)– IMPD is searching for a man wanted for the murder of a 19-year-old in September.
Prosecutors charged 25-year-old Daniel Roseboro Friday with the murder of Gregory Paffumi. Police found Paffumi dead on the steps of his apartment on the 3800 block of Bennett Drive the night of September 25, 2015.
"I still can’t believe he’s gone," Paffumi's mother, Trina Paffumi, said. "Our family is hurting and my son deserves justice."
The family said Greg was shot during a party outside their apartment that night with dozens of people able to see what happened, but only person came forward and said Roseboro was the shooter.
"I mean there was over 20 people out there when this happened and we only had one person decide he wanted to do the right thing," the victim's grandmother, Sharon Gentry, said. “He couldn’t keep it to himself. He had to do the right thing and that’s exactly what he’s doing. If more people did that we would have fewer crimes on the street."
Gentry hopes this witness coming forward will inspire other witnesses from unsolved murders in 2015 to talk. The victim's mother hopes Roseboro turns himself so the family can get a sense of closure.
“I just wish he’d do the right thing, turn himself in," Trina Paffumi said. " You know do right, because my son deserves justice.”
IMPD said in a statement Roseboro should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
