Columbus police search for man wanted for armed robbery at a bank

COLUMBUS, Ind. (February 16, 2016) –Columbus police are searching for man who a robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the Main Source Bank located at 529 Washington Street around 1:30 p.m. on a report of a robbery.

According to witnesses, a man entered the bank and passed a note to a bank employee.  The man also displayed a handgun. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, and he was last seen running south.

The man was described as a white male, approximately 35-45 years of age. He was last seen wearing a black Indiana University sweatshirt, black sunglasses, and a tan colored hat. No employees were injured during the robbery.
