INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 29, 2016) – A Pittsburgh-based chain known for topping its sandwiches with coleslaw and French fries will cook up its signature fare at Circle Centre Mall this year.

Primanti Bros. will replace California Pizza Kitchen when it opens at the corner of Illinois and Maryland streets in late fall.

Founded in 1933 and nationally known for its unique sandwiches, Primanti Bros. has 17 locations in the Pittsburgh area with other restaurants in Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, and West Virginia. Another central Indiana restaurant is set to open in Noblesville in 2016.

In addition to its signature sandwiches, the chain serves up burgers, sandwiches, pizza, wings and appetizers.

Primanti Bros. isn’t the only new eatery headed to Circle Centre Mall. Nada, an upscale Mexican eatery out of Cincinnati, will open in the spring, and Punch Bowl Special, a restaurant chain offering food, drinks and games, plans to open during the summer.

California Pizza Kitchen is the latest in a series of retailers that have closed or will close at the downtown mall. Johnny Rockets closed this week, while Abercrombie & Fitch, American Greetings, Gap Kids and Johnston & Murphy have closed or plan to close soon.
