The biggest winter storm on the season has formed over the southern United States. This powerful winter storm will bring heavy rain, ice, sleet and accumulating snow to the South and the East Coast this weekend. That storm will also spread moisture into southern Indiana. In central Indiana a few flurries are likely for the next 48 hours.
Most of the Eastern U.S. under some form of a winter weather advisory, watch or warning through Saturday.
Heavy rain and snow will fall across the south on Friday.
Heavy snow will move into the Mid-Atlantic region by Saturday morning.
Heavy snow will pound the Northeast Saturday evening.
Snow will be measured in feet over the East Coast this weekend.
Heavy snow will accumulate in Kentucky this weekend.
Snow will not be a factor for the AFC Championship Game.
Up to 5" of snow is likely in Charlotte. The snow will end well before the NFC Championship Game.
Central Indiana will see rain changing to snow late Monday.
Accumulating snow is likely Monday night through Tuesday morning.
