We'll carry the chance for an isolated rain shower through Friday afternoon and evening, but the steady rain that we had during the AM hours is over for today. Temperatures will be unseasonably mild topping out near 50. Saturday AM will be dry with a wave of heavy rain entering the state around 2pm. Rain will be heavy at times through Saturday evening. Between Friday and Saturday rainfall totals will be mostly between 0.5" and 0.75" with some locally higher amounts.
The transition over to snow will happen during the pre-dawn hours on Sunday. We'll see that switch over by 2am across Western Indiana. Snow moves into Indy by 5am and will continue to the east. Snow will be heavy at times on Sunday AM, with blowing snow & 30mph winds compounding it. Here is how much we are expecting on Sunday AM. Wind chills will be in the single digits by Sunday afternoon.
By Monday AM wind chills will be sub-zero. We'll hang onto the cold air for much of next week, with some additional accumulating snow on Tuesday afternoon/night.
