MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (Dec. 30, 2015)-- Four teenagers died Wednesday evening in a crash on State Road 37 at Cragen Road in Morgan County, according to the coroner.

Three of the four were students at Brownsburg High School. Brownsburg police say the driver, Matthew Chambers, and three of his passengers, Riley Hurst, Lucas Kenworthy, and Noah Tex, all died in the crash, which happened just before 7 p.m. and closed the northbound and southbound lanes of SR 37.

The crash involved two vehicles. A car carrying five young passengers crossed the median, crashing into an oncoming mini van. Four of the five teenagers in the car died. A family of four inside the mini van, including two children, were unharmed.

According to police, the one survivor in the car, Ryan Rickenbacker, was the only one wearing a seat belt.

Reconstruction troopers are working to determine the cause of the crash, but police say they did not see any early indications of alcohol being a factor.

Officials at the school district said counselors will be available at Brownsburg High School and Harris Academy from 8:30 a.m. until noon on Thursday. The school released the following statement Thursday:

We are saddened to report that on Wednesday evening a fatal crash claimed the lives of four students who attended Brownsburg High School and Harris Academy.  We send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the families of these students. Counselors will be available at Brownsburg High School to provide additional support for our students during this difficult time

GoFundMe page has already been started to help the family of one of the victims of the crash.
