Police arrest teen in fatal northwest side shooting

UPDATE (November 2,2016): Cameron Tibbs was found not guilty of murder. He was found guilty of carrying a handgun without a license and obstruction of justice def. knowingly or intentionally in an official proceeding. He is set to be sentenced on December 12, 2016.

UPDATE (December 17, 2015): Police say Cameron Tibbs, 17, of Indianapolis, turned himself in for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of David Bowman. He’s been charged with murder and carrying a handgun without a license, and police say he will be charged as an adult.

UPDATE (December 16, 2015)– Police say they identified the woman and located the vehicle, and detectives no longer need to speak with her. The investigation is ongoing.

INDIANAPOLIS (December 13, 2015) – A Speedway man is dead after a shooting on the city’s northwest side Sunday evening.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., police were called to a report of shots fired at a Phillips 66 gas station in the 2400 block of Lafayette Road.

When officers arrived, they found David Bowman, 31, of Speedway, on the ground between the gas pumps and the door to the gas station. Bowman was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives have released pictures of a woman in a gold Chevy Impala wanted in connection with this shooting. The car has dark-tinted windows and a spoiler, and was last seen traveling northbound on Kessler Boulevard North Drive from the scene of the shooting.

According to officers, the woman was seen getting into the car prior to the shooting.
