INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 4, 2015) - One local program called At-Your-School Child Services offers programs for kids during winter break.

Organizers say the program is great for working parents or those who want to maintain an in-classroom routine during the break.

At-Your-School programs happen all year, focusing on the academic and social development taught in the classroom.

Over the upcoming holiday break, kids are offered educational activities, fitness and arts in a safe, fun, familiar environment.

It’s all instructed and supervised.

The program also promotes bullying prevention and building self-esteem even while on break.

“We know when kids are in a safe place out of school time that they do better during the school year and during the school day, and so during winter break it’s no exception,” said Chrystal Struben with At-Your-School Child Services. “This is an opportunity for kids to have fun and still engage in exercise and interesting activities, be with their friends and then get some of those core learning programs still that they would have gotten during the school year.”

The cost varies depending on the number of days a child attends:

  • $26-29/day for 5 days or more
  • $36-39/day for 4 days or less
  • Financial assistance is available.
  • A sack lunch is needed every day.

Winter break camps are available in some Washington Township, Decatur Township, Noblesvile and IPS schools.

The registration deadline is Monday, Dec. 7.
