The Shops at Perry Crossing

PLAINFIELD, Ind ( November 13, 2015) –   The Shops at Perry Crossing, formerly Metropolis Lifestyle Center, celebrated the completion of its $11.1 million redevelopment and re-branding Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the center’s Town Square. Improvements to the 600,000-square-foot outdoor shopping center include additional parking and lighting and several outdoor amenities that can be enjoyed year-round.

Purchased and redeveloped by Tennessee-based Poag Shopping Centers in partnership with Blue Vista Capital Management, LLC and Eightfold Real Estate Capital LP and affiliates, The Shops at Perry Crossing is dog-friendly and community-centric and provides a unique and satisfying experience for all visitors.

“It has been our pleasure to partner with the Town of Plainfield to maximize the uniqueness and quality of the lifestyle retail experience at The Shops at Perry Crossing. The completed redevelopment and re-branding of the center will have a positive impact on its guests, tenants, the county and surrounding communities,” said Josh Poag, president & CEO of Poag Shopping Centers.

Community leaders, town officials, merchants, community residents and Poag Shopping Center executives gathered for the grand re-opening ceremony, which was followed by a cookie giveaway with chances to win gift cards and family-friendly entertainment in the center’s new Town Square. The celebration continues through the weekend with a tree-lighting ceremony, shopping spree giveaways, musical entertainment and other festivities (schedule of weekend events can be found below).

Renovations to the property include a redesigned central plaza, now called Town Square, with inviting open areas to accommodate events, such as a planned movie series on the lawn. Every member of the family can come to the shopping center now that the entire property is dog-friendly and pet stations are planned. The new Town Square also features a gazebo and fireplace to warm yourself on the crisp nights in the winter and a splash pad where kids can play in the hot summer. Children will also love to walk on the bridge over the new koi pond and throw food to the fish. In addition, more than 70 parking spots have been added and most of the parallel parking spots have been replaced with user-friendly head-in spots, making parking much easier and less distressing for some drivers. Additional signage, improved lighting and a peaceful water wall also enhance the shopping and dining experience.

“Our number one priority at The Shops at Perry Crossing is our guests. We want our shoppers to leave having had the best possible experiences – and for us, we are proud to complete a project that will ensure that outcome with new improvements and exciting gathering areas.” said Julie Callis, general manager at The Shops at Perry Crossing. “For our tenants, the potential for growth is invaluable. The revitalization of the center raises the bar in attracting new shoppers, new retailers as well as enhancing the experience for current guests.”

Robin Brandgard, Plainfield Town Council President said, “We are very excited to complete construction on the new The Shops at Perry Crossing. The revitalized center provides an easily accessible and popular premier entertainment destination that encourages even more residents and visitors to experience Plainfield’s vibrant community.”

The Shops at Perry Crossing is located 10 miles southwest of Indianapolis and offers 44 venues that provide a mix of dining, shopping and entertainment. In addition to its many boutiques, anchors include JC Penney, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Carmike 18 theater. Claddagh Irish Pub, Stone Creek Dining Company and Panera Bread are among the dining options available.

“The potential of this redevelopment to Plainfield and greater Indianapolis is huge,” said Brad DuBois, executive director of the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce. “These vast improvements will attract additional visitors to the area, stimulating growth, which in turn improves our economy, sustains job opportunities and enhances quality of life.”
