Gusty winds blew colder air across the state on Thursday

A strong area of low pressure moved across the state early Thursday. The system brought gusty winds that knocked over trash cans and patio furniture, and brought much colder air.  The colder air and gusty winds will be with through Friday before temperatures moderate over the weekend.

Peak wind gusts topped 50 mph on Thursday.

Low temperatures will be near freezing overnight.
