(September 6, 2015) – A four-year-old boy battling cancer gets a surprise from a group of troops stationed in Afghanistan.

Zander Schultes is with his mom and dad, who are stationed in Hawaii.

A friend of his father is currently deployed to Kabul.

Major Scott Porter heard about Zander’s battle with stage three cancer and had a very special message for him.

“Now your dad knows how perfect my hair is and it’s no secret. Everybody knows here as well. But I realizes it’s not cool right now. You know what is. A clean shaven bald head. But not only am I shaving my head today, but people you haven’t even met are shaving their heads today to show their support for you, Zander,” said Major Scott Porter.

Major Porter and his colleagues all shaved their heads in support of Zander and all children battling cancer.

Zander has so far completed his fourth round of chemo and radiation.
