Woman found dead in New Palestine identified by police
NEW PALESTINE, Ind. (Sept. 3, 2015)- The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the discovery of a deceased female.
The woman’s body was discovered near 1600 South, 600 West Thursday afternoon, by the Jacob Schramm Nature Preserve. A family discovered the body near a bench about 15 feet from the road and called 911.
At this time the manner and cause of death are unknown. Police identified the woman as Theodosia Regina Queen, 62, of Indianapolis.
“No matter what type of person that was they are going to have the sad news that that person is not coming home, said Dusti Tommasone, a neighbor who lives near the scene.
Investigators do not believe Queen died of natural causes or suicide.
“It does appear that she probably died or was killed somewhere else and brought here and dumped,” explains Captain Jeff Rasche, with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
An autopsy is planned for Friday. Anyone with information can contact investigators at 317-477-1199.
