Indianapolis, Ind. (September 3, 2015) - The Indianapolis Indians start the final home stand of the season Thursday night.

The team is tied for first with Columbus in the fight to clinch the International League West Division title. Meanwhile, the Indians are trying to break last season’s Victory Field single-season attendance record  of 660,289.

“Last year we broke our single-season attendance record just barely," said Indianapolis Indians spokesperson  Jon Glesing. "It came down to the last game of the season. We needed a sellout and we got it. It was so exciting. Well guess what? We are right in range again to break that record, but we need our fans to come out just one more time this year to help make sure we can break yet another record in what will soon be a 20-year-old ballpark.”

Thursday night's game is at 7:05 p.m. against Columbus and is Bark in the Park and Craft Beer Night.

"We have a big beer garden set up with Sun King and a mobile tap room. They have free sampling for fans 21 and over. Of course we have Sun King available all throughout the ballpark. We have a neat, festive party going on out in centerfield, including a polka band on Thursday to help celebrate with Sun King the tapping of their Oktoberfest brew.”

At Friday's 7:15 p.m. game against Toledo, there is a jersey auction to raise awareness for suicide prevention and to benefit Community Health Network.

Fireworks will immediately follow Friday and Saturday night's games. Saturday's game against Toledo starts at 6:05 p.m.

"And on Saturday we’re also going to give away the jerseys that the players will wear on Saturday night with a raffle," said Glesing. "Fans that come to the ballpark can register and we’ll notify you if you’ve won. You get to come on the field and meet the player. They give you the shirt right off their back right after the game.”

You must be 18 or older to win a player jersey.

“It’s neat. You know, everything we do revolves around a simple phrase and that’s, “affordable, memorable, family fun." So if that applies to you, whether it’s a family atmosphere, it’s date night, if it’s a hardcore sports fan, or just a baseball fan, I think we have things to offer everybody no matter who you are."

Oftentimes the nearby parking garages raise rates on game nights. Thursday night, the two closest garages will honor normal parking rates for ticket holders.

  • Government Center Garage – charging $20 – Indians fans can show their ticket to get the normal $6 rate
  • White River State Park surface lot and garage – charging $20 – Indians fans can show their ticket to get the normal $6 rate
