Police: Women steal hospital worker’s wallet, use stolen credit card at Target

FRANKLIN, Ind. (Sept. 2, 2015) – Investigators in Johnson County are looking for two people who took a wallet from a woman’s purse while she was working at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

According to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the theft happened on Thursday, Aug. 27, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the hospital, 1125 W. Hospital Rd., Franklin. The employee said she’d taken out her wallet around 10 a.m. and put it back in her purse, which she then left in her office. She told investigators the office and hallways surrounding it are always unlocked.

Her bank then called to inform her of a suspicious charge at a Target store in Columbus. The woman discovered the wallet was missing from her purse. The wallet contained credit cards, insurance cards, her husband’s military ID, her driver’s license and $175 in cash.

Investigators said surveillance cameras captured images of the women who may have taken the wallet. They were seen at the Columbus Target, where they racked up a charge of $326.82 using one of the stolen cards.
