One person killed after crash in Shelby County
SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (Aug. 21, 2015) — A driver died in a car crash early Friday morning in Shelby County.
Officers arrived in the 2200 block of Boggstown Rd. and found two vehicles with heavy front end damage. They say the driver of the 1999 Chevy van, identified as 23-year-old, Mary Walters, had been partially ejected and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, 42-year-old Jeffrey Hunt, was flown to Methodist to be treated.
Investigators say Walters, driving eastbound, left the road. When she tried to re-enter the road she lost control and swerved into the westbound lane.
Toxicology results are pending and the investigation continues.
