Indianapolis police search for suspect after child hit by stray bullet
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 8, 2015) – Indianapolis police are searching for a suspect after a two-year-old child was hit by a stray bullet Saturday morning.
Police were called to the city’s north side near Westlane Road and Harcourt Road around 9:30 a.m.
According to witnesses, a 2-year-old child was riding in a car when a bullet struck the child in the head.
Passerbys also saw a vehicle leaving the area immediately after the incident, and police are investigating as to whether that vehicle is involved.
The child was transported to Riley Hospital in stable condition.
