UPDATE: Greenwood Police: death being treated as a homicide
GREENWOOD, Ind. (August 8, 2015)–Greenwood Police were called to the scene of a death investigation at a home along County Line Road near Tanglewood Drive. That scene is about one half mile west of the Greenwood Park Mall.
The victim is a 30-year-old male, identified by family as Robbie Scott Everhart.
Investigators say they will treat the case like a homicide until the evidence suggests something else.
Family members tell CBS 4 Everhart got in to a fight with another family member Friday night into Saturday. Everhart’s aunt says his sister, who was also at that home, left, but came back later Saturday morning and found her brother dead.
“They were having a good night and, I don’t know, sounded like one thing led to another and now we’re here,” said Tim Judkins, Everhart’s cousin.
Greenwood police detectives took a man away in handcuffs, and family says it was the man who Robbie Everhart got in to the fight with.
Relatives say Everhart celebrated his 30th birthday this past Thursday and leaves behind a two year old daughter.
“He always, always had a joke, always made you smile, laid back. He just liked life and to have fun,” said Pam Stephenson, Everhart’s aunt.
A police official says detectives found no immediate signs of trauma and are waiting for autopsy and toxicology results to determine what killed him.
