(July 1, 2015) — Rocky’s back.
A new trailer for the upcoming boxing movie Creed features Sylvester Stallone reprising the role he originated in the 1976 Oscar-winning movie Rocky.
The new movie focuses on Adonis Johnson Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the son of Apollo Creed (played in the Rocky series by Carl Weathers). The elder Creed, foe and later friend to Stallone’s Rocky Balboa, died after fighting Soviet Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) in Rocky IV.
The trailer shows Rocky training the younger Creed, who didn’t have much of a relationship with his famous father.
The film, set for a November release, is directed by Ryan Coogler. Coogler directed 2013’s critically acclaimed movie Fruitvale Station, which also starred Jordan. Stallone last appeared on the big screen as Rocky in 2006’s Rocky Balboa.
