UPDATE:

Richmond police said an officer on patrol found the car on the city’s southeast side. Police said, as far as they know, no one would claim the doughnut reward. If offered to them, police said they’d donate them.

RICHMOND, Ind. (June 30, 2015) – Doughnuts. Lots and lots of doughnuts.

That’s the reward the owner of a doughnut shop in Richmond is offering for information leading to the return of his stolen car.

In the early morning hours Monday, someone stole a white 2004 Cadillac CTS from a home in the 1300 block of Woodland Trail Drive.

J.C. Price, who owns the city’s Square Donuts store, reported the theft around 5 a.m. He later offered a sizable reward for the car’s return: 25 dozen doughnuts.

“I’m offering 25 dozen squares if anyone has info or spots the car, and leads to the arrest of the responsible party!!” Price wrote on the Square Donuts Facebook page. The page has received several tips about the car and possible sightings.

The keys had been left in the car’s ignition, police said.

Police told the Pal-Item that the car could have been stolen by the same individual or individuals responsible for a number of vehicle break-ins in the area.
