ARCADIA, Ind. (June 16, 2015) – One of the men who beat up a World War II veteran during a home invasion learned his punishment Friday.

Justin Lawson was sentenced to 20 years in prison, plus another three on work release, two on electronic monitoring and five suspended. He had pleaded guilty to burglary and robbery resulting in bodily injury.

Lawson and his friend, Joseph Lowe, broke into the Arcadia home of Hershel “Bud” Moore in October 2014, tying up the 94-year-old and ransacking his house. Moore was severely beaten during the ordeal.

Lowe was sentenced to 20 years in the case last month.
