IMPD recruit trainee arrested on OWI charge after driving wrong way on I-465
INDIANAPOLIS (June 4, 2015) – Indiana State Police arrested a recruit trainee with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department early Thursday morning on a drunk driving charge after authorities said he was driving the wrong way on Interstate 465.
Wesley Ryder II, 24, was going south in the northbound lanes of I-465 near the 42 mile marker around 4:30 a.m., when his vehicle hit a pickup truck, said police.
A passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries.
Ryder was in his personal vehicle, and he was taken to Eskenazi Hospital for a blood draw.
Ryder is a recruit trainee in the 10th recruit class, and he has failed to meet the minimum standards as required, and thus will be subject to termination.
