Ireland becomes first country to approve same sex marriage

(May 23, 2015) — Ireland became the first country to legalize same-sex marriage by popular vote on Saturday. The measure is set to pass, with “yes” taking more than 60% of the vote with only four of 43 constituencies still to report their tallies.
