INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 25, 2015) – Groups of people showed up at the airport today, but not to catch a plane, instead they were there to pull one.

Hoosiers were pulling a plane to help grant kids wishes at the Indianapolis Airport on Saturday.

The funds went to the Indiana Children’s wish fund.

The group grants wishes to Indiana kids who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or terminal illness.

47 teams showed up to pull a 23 ton twin-engine jet 15 feet.

The winning team was able to pull the plane that distance in 6.6 seconds.

“[It’s] A very rewarding experience,” said Bob Birge the director of Corporate Communications for Republic Airways. “It’s truly been a come together by a lot of organizations to help make it happen.”

There was also a silent auction and face painting for kids.

The event raised more than $300,000 this year, to grant wishes.
