CHICAGO (April 14, 2015) – An Indiana woman faces a murder charge after a drunken argument with her husband resulted in the death of a bystander, police say.

Shikita Woods and her husband were arguing in the early morning hours Sunday near 55th and State Street on the south side of Chicago when she got into a car and rammed the vehicle her husband was sitting in. The car hit a light pole and a man on the street.

The victim, Brent Nelson, 51, died at a Chicago area hospital. Woods’ husband and the car’s driver were also taken to a hospital. According to the Chicago Tribune, Woods and her husband had recently married. Police said the 28-year-old man had battered her Saturday night at a gas station.
