Police: Woman tried to put state trooper in headlock after drunken strip tease
POSEY COUNTY (Feb. 13, 2015) – It was an eventful night for an Evansville woman.
Indiana State Police responded to Fester’s Bar in Mt. Vernon after getting reports that a woman in the bar was performing a strip tease. When a state trooper arrived, an employee told him that the woman had left. While the trooper talked to the employee, a truck pulled up.
The driver said he’d tried to take the woman—identified as Amber Carter, 34, Evansville—home but came back to the bar after she scratched him and refused to give him directions to her house.
The trooper “detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” on Carter and said she appeared to be “extremely intoxicated.” When she tried to call someone to pick her up, she kept dropping her phone and turning it on and off, police said.
She then tried to put the state trooper in a headlock and continued to yell at the driver who’d brought her back to the bar. She kicked a window inside the patrol car, police said.
Investigators described Carter as “uncooperative” when she was taken to the Posey County Jail. Charges against her included public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
